Neha Devi Singh was born in Mumbai on August 13, 1981. She was student of St. Xaviers College in Mumbai and completed her graduation from there in Economics. After completion of her education, she decided to take the television industry as her career and started seeking work in the industry behind the camera. Due to her looks and mannerism, wherever she went for work, she was suggested to seek working in front of the camera instead of behind it.
After many failed efforts in her endeavour, she decided to take up acting as her career and made debut in the acting world from the TV series Ssssh Koi Hai. It was a horror/thriller telecast on Star Plus during 2003-04. it was produced by
Abhimanyu Singh
and directed by
Kaushik Ghatak
. Neha portrayed the role of Sameera and her alter ego bijli in the serial. The role had immense possibilities as Sameera is a timid and simple girl who works in a salon in the daytime and is converted to Bijli in the nights as a ghost buster. She acted opposite
Salil Ankola
, well known cricketer and also
Jiten Lalwani
. In no time, the character of Bijli became very popular with the children across the country due to the great performance put up by Neha. She is probably the only female artist who has acted like an action hero on TV screen.
