Nausheen Sardar Ali is the daughter of a Punjabi Muslim father and an Iranian mother. Her family resides in Mumbai and her parents had nothing to do with films or acting but Nausheen was interested in performing arts since her school days. She would regularly participate in Fancy Dress Competitions, elocution contests and one act plays during her school.Â

After completion of her school education, She completed her graduation from MMK college, Mumbai and started working as a model. She continued as a model for nearly two years and at the age of 19years, she got the big break of her life by catching attention of Balaji Telefilms and she was cast as Kkusum in the title role and raised ripples in the TV world by her superior performance. She also worked in Pakistani TV series Ana where also her performance won great accolades. After that she also did a number of Pakistani TV serials and one of the most popular serials was Kuchh Dil Se which broke many records of popularity in Pakistan.

She also worked in a number of Bollywood movies Kaalchakra, Main Ek Din Laut Ke Aaunga, Three: Love Lies Betrayal etc but as she did not find Bollywood suitable to her taste, she returned back to the TV acting. She has hosted a number of TV shows and presently works with Star Plus. She is also interested in doing a movie for Hollywood if given an opportunity.
