It portrays the story of Kamli, a young woman caught in an abusive marriage. With the help of her friend Farida, Kamli fights for her rights. The series opens with a view of a serene village in Pakistan. Kamli is a kind-hearted woman as she goes about her daily chores. Kamli's parents, with strong traditional values arrange her marriage to Shahbaz, from a nearby village who seemed very respectful. Kamli agrees to the marriage, trusting her parents. However, after the beautiful ceremonies, the tone shifts dramatically. As Kamli moves in, she begins to sense the controlling nature of her husband and the evil of her mother-in-law, Nasreen. Shahbaz's true nature is revealed as he starts dominating Kamli. Nasreen supports her son completely.

Further, it depicts about the abuses Kamli faces. Shahbaz's controlling behavior turns violent, and Kamli becomes desperate and helpless. Farida, noticing the change in Kamli, reaches out to her friend. Kamli tells Farida about her sufferings, but feels trapped by societal expectations and fear of dishonoring her family. Farida encourages Kamli to seek help. How does Kamli come out of such a struggling life? Did she achieve victory? How doe she manages to stay strong despite being in a manipulative environment? This is portrayed in this serial. This show deals with honor killings, illiteracy, general awareness, and the disowning of girls if they are born first, as families often expect a son to maintain the lineage.
