Nikhil Chinapa is one of the most well known faces of Indian television, mainly due to his exploits for popular music channel MTV. He is extremely versatile and toggles between various work roles in the entertainment industry such as video jockey, radio jockey and TV presenter. He is a DJ too and also owns a firm named Submerge Music which looks to help out aspiring DJs find their footing.

The Bangalore lad came into prominence while hosting a popular request show named ‘MTV Select’ which aired during the late 90s and early 2000s on MTV. He has not looked back since then and has been the host of several popular shows such as MTV Roadies- a popular reality show mostly based on physical strength, MTV Splitsvilla- a reality show based on chemistry between couples and India’s Got Talent- yet again a reality show featuring talents from around the country. He hosted the radio show In the Mix with Nikhil Chinapa on popular radio channel, 94.3 Radio One. However, the show came to an abrupt end due to certain issues. Chinapa also hosts EDM shows on a few online channels. Apart from all these, he has made appearances in a few Bollywood films as well.

At present, he is concentrating more on the development of the Electronic Dance Music scene in India. His company Submerge organizes music festivals and gigs on a regular basis which mainly revolve around EDM. The most recent music festival that was put together by Nikhil was the Supersonic Festival in Goa this past December. His career has had its fair share of controversies, but he has survived and is still going strong.
