Ajay Gehi is an Indian actor. He was born in Mumbai to a Sindhi family. He completed his graduation from HR College and then started doing a job of computer selling. He had been to Dubai for three months for this job, but soon realized his calling for acting. He left the job and became a successful model. This talented model, who has acted in more than 200 advertisements so far, before joining the silver screen, turned into a full time TV actor, when he got the role of ‘ Rahul’ for the serial ‘ Miilee’, telecast on Star plus during 2005 -06. Ajay had also done some noteworthy but small roles in ‘Raahein’ (Zee TV), ‘Double Mann Double Mazaa’,’
’ (1992-96 on DD Metro), ‘Mamla Dadbad hai’ (DD Metro) and ‘Kinare Milte hai’. He has hosted a few episodes of ‘Mud Mud ke dekh’ as well. Ajay is married to Malvika who is not from the small screen but is working for an Ad-agency.
Ajay got his turning point, when he played the role of ‘Guddu’, for the movie titled ‘Maqbool’, that came in 2003. His next movie was a comedy drama, named as ‘7 1/2 Phere: More Than a Wedding’, where he essayed the role of Piyas groom. In 2010, he bagged a
movie for the role of ‘Hariya’. The movie was ‘ Raavan’. Though it didn’t do well on the box office as expected but Ajay’s acting skills were highly appreciated. The next year i.e. 2011, it was the turn of
Ram Gopal Varma
to cast Ajay for the role of ‘Ashish Bhatnagar’ in his crime-thriller movie, titled as ‘ Not A Love Story’. The movie tanked but Ajay got busy in a different project. Nobody ever thought that a low budget Gujrati language movie can make any kind of news.
The sheer hard work of 2 years brought cheers on the team of ‘The Good Road’ wherein Ajay played the role of David. The movie got the India's official entry to the Oscars in 2013.
He has also donned the cap of Co-producer for the movie ‘Madholal – Keep Walking’, which was released on Aug 2010 and got high critics appreciation and rating (IMDB rating - 7/10).
