In one of his interview, he mentioned that he actually gave the audition for the role of ‘Karna’ but was chosen for the role of "Sanjaya" by the audition team.

The role of "Sanjaya" is really very challenging as he is shown to be Dhritarashtra's advisor and charioteer. There are other dimensions in this role as well, as he is till the last episode of Mahabharat along with Dhritarashtra. This role was a pivotal one wherein ‘Sanjaya’ would narrate the entire Mahabharat to ‘Dhritarashtra’, using his gift of seeing events at a distance.

It would be noteworthy that the set of Mahabharat was said to be made of rupees hundred crores and an additional twenty crore rupees were spent on marketing. Getting selected for a role, in such an ambitious project, is really commendable. This suggests that though this young actor is just one TV serial old but has really jumpstarted his career, in an industry known for fierce competition. He gives all credit to his parents, who he says, are his inspiration behind his hard work. This young and energetic actor further aspires to earn his name in Bollywood in coming years.
