Divya Jagdale is best known from her stunning film role performances from Straight from the Heart (1999), Stanley's Tiffin Box (2011) and That Girl in Yellow Boots (2010). But it is not well-known to a worldwide audience outside India that her maturity in natural acting came actually from theatre. Today she is known for small but most memorable roles in big films but the charisma of her performance has a history which took wings from stage.

Avinash was her first play when casted her for a small role in which she played just one scene as Vinod Ranganathan’s wife. Then came Miss Beautiful where Makrand Deshpande casted her in role of an elderly lady, the role which mesmerized viewers with her superb performance. Dreams of Taleem was her next great entry on stage. Following her husband Shiv Subramaniam who is a famous screen writer she also wrote scripts for Bansuri which was converted into a theatre play by Sunil Shanbag. End of Season was her next act of writing.

Her film acting career started in 1999 with Straight from the Heart. After that she had many memorable roles including Dead End (2000), DilPe Mat Le Yaar (2000), I Did Not Kill Gandhi (2005), Mixed Doubles (2006), Mumbai MeriJaan (2008), Firaaq (2008), That Girl in Yellow Boots (2010), Rakshas (2010), Stanley’s Tiffin Box (2011), Talk to Me (2011) and (2014).
