Gulshan Walia

Gulshan Walia is an Indian freelance actor, producer, and director working mainly in the Hindi film, television, and radio industry. Born in Punjab, he completed his diploma in one year from the Indian Theatre, Chandigarh, in 1981. Then, he completed his one-year fellowship project on "Body as an Expressive Medium" and graduated from the National School of Drama, New Delhi in 1985.

With more than 20 years of sound experience behind him, Gulshan has produced over 700 episodes of radio serials for various channels of All India Radio in the sponsored category. He was also responsible for producing and directing 14 video spots on fire safety for numerous corporate films, ad films, and documentaries. He has also produced and directed for various television projects, such as his recent collaboration with Doordarshan, to create the daily soap Junoon.

A veteran in the showbiz, Gulshan is also the proprietor of G.W. Films, a production & direction company for television and radio. He has conducted a number of stage plays and theatre workshops across the country under his banner. He is also a visiting faculty to Centre for Cultural Resources and Training, New Delhi for theatre, and NSD extension program. Additionally, he also holds the title of director at Bhumika Rangmanch and president at Gurukul Multi-Educational Society.

Gulshan made his debut on the silver screen with Bollywood blockbuster, Padmaavat (2018). Gulshan then starred in 2019 Hindi drama, Lukkhe (2019), directed by Deshroj Saurot.

He also bagged a role in the season 1 of 2019 Netflix’s Hindi crime series, Delhi Crime (2019- ). This is based on the Nirbhaya case, where Gulshan plays a character called Adersh Anand in the seventh episode.
