Gursimrat Singh Gill

Gursimrat Singh Gill is an Indian Professional Football Player. He plays as a center-back for Bengaluru in the Indian Super League. He was born on 11th February 1997 at Sarabha, Punjab, India. Gursimrat has never stopped practicing his game. Gursimrat’s father and uncle were hockey lovers despite that he chooses football as his game. As football was his first love, he would never get tired of playing football around with his friends at the ground near his house. In 2007, Gursimrat got his turning point in life when Ravinder, a former trainee of CFA, well-versed him about the trials being held to select trainees for the new batch. He got selected for the academy beating 100 other players and joined the academy.

Gursimrat has a superior physique of a defender. Firstly, he started as a left-back then he moved to the place of center-back(defender). Gursimrat trained at CFA for five years, that is, from 2007 to 2012. In 2010, Gursimrat in the under-14 Subroto Cup won his first main trophy with the CFA team. In 2012, Gursimrat moved to Navi Mumbai and there he join the All India Football Federation’s regional academy, he played in various matches, including the I-League U19.

He was also a part of National Under-17 side and National Under-20 side. In 2013, Gursimrat along with four other players from the Under-17 side, choose to be sent to the Nike All Asia Camp in Doha, Qatar. Gursimrat along with teammate Bidvananda Singh got selected to participate in the All-Star Game. During the game and the camp overall, European clubs such as Barcelona and Inter Milan found Gursimrat and Bidvananda brilliant players. In 2015, Gursimrat while playing for AIFF Elite Academy won the 2014-15 I-League U19. On 23rd August 2016, Gursimrat has signed his first professional contract with Bengaluru FC of the I-League.
