Dileep Subramanian is an Indian Sound engineer who is well known for his work as a sound designer in movies such as Rockstar, Mausam, Sultan, Shamitabh, Brothers, Tamasha, and much more. Dileep Subramanian has predominantly worked in Hindi Film Industry. He was born in Kerala where he completed his education. Dileep Subramanian was too fond of working in Film Industry. When he was in his school, he used to join “Rangamanch Karyakaram” team during weekends, who used to play in the public theatres. He is an important member of the sound department in any movie he worked in. He had worked in many films, TV series, documentary, and short films in various formats. He decided to join Indian Film Industry at a very young age, and since then has worked in over 30 films. He made his debut as a sound assistant in the movie Aakhree Rasta., directed by Bhagyaraj, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Sridevi, Jaya Prada, Om Shivpuri, Anupam Kher, and many more.

He worked under the supervision of C.N.Melath and A.R. Swaminathan. After that, he worked in “The Deceivers” as an assistant sound director. This movie was directed by Nicholas Meyer, starring Pierce Brosnan, Saeed Jeffery, Shashi Kapoor, Helena Michell, and many more. In 1989, he worked in a documentary, named “Before My Eyes”. The documentary was completed from the captured scenes of Kashmir valley. Mani Kaul directed this documentary. Dileep Subramanian gave sound effects of natures sound in the documentary. Later, in 1994, he worked in a TV Series named Tehkikaat, starring Vijay Anand, Saurabh Shukla, and Kitu Gidwani. After this, he kept on working as an assistant sound recordist and sound designer in various movies. He works in movies such as “ Saathiya,” “Maqbool,” “Dance Like a Man,” ” Hum Tum,” “Kisna: The Warrior Poet,” “Dubai Return,” and much more.

He also worked in Fanaa, a romantic movie directed by Kunal Kohli, starring Aamir Khan, Kajol, Rishi Kapoor, and much more. In this movie, he worked as a sound recordist. In 2007, he worked in the movie “ Ta Ra Rum Pum,” directed by Siddharth Anand, starring Saif Ali Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Javed Jaffery and much more. Later in 2009, he worked as a sound engineer in the movie “ Love Aaj Kal,” for which he got a nomination at Screen Play Awards for Best Sound. Later, he worked in many movies such as Rockstar, Dabangg, Jab Takk Hai Jaan, Cocktail, Gunday, Holiday, Shamitabh, Brothers, Tamasha, Sultan and much more as a sound engineer or assistant sound director. Recently, he worked in Tiger Zinda Hai, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, starring Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Sajjad Delafrooz, and much more.

Anish John

Anish John is an Indian movie sound designer and mixer. He is a National Award winner for Best Sound Design or Best Audiography in the film ‘Labour of Love.’ John also won a Filmfare Award at their 63rd Annual edition, where he gained a nomination for the category of Best Sound Design. Anish also gained a Jagran Film Award for Best Sound Design, in the 8th Jagran Film Festival in 2017. It was his second victory in this same category, as he also bagged an award at the 6th Jagran Film Festival, in the year 2015. John also gained high critical acclaim for his work as the Sound Designer in the first Indian Netflix original series, Sacred Games. ‘Newton,’ the 2017 Bollywood movie selected for the category of Best Foreign Language Film (Indian entry) for the 90th Annual Academy Awards, had Anish John’s presence as their Production Sound Mixer. The movie had its world-wide premiere in the 67th edition of Berlin Film Festival. It premiered in North America at the TFF or Tribeca Film Festival. Anish was born and bred in the historic city of Kolkata, India. He completed his schooling from the Don Bosco School in Park Circus, Kolkata. He attended the St. Xavier’s College, which was also in Kolkata. John also did a three years course from the FTII, Pune or the Film and Television Institute of India, in formal film education. After the completion of his graduation, he shifted to the Bollywood city of Mumbai. Earlier, Anish worked as an editor and a sound recorder for numerous short movies, documentaries, and narrative features. He later shifted to the field of sound designing and mixing. Other than them, his contributions to Bollywood films like Trapped, Dear Zindagi, Ship of Theseus, 24, and Khichdi: The Movie, are exceptional. Anish’s work in documentaries like ‘Traveling with the Pros’ and ‘The Greatest Love Story Ever Told,’ are highly appreciated. Some prestigious awards like the Filmfare Award, News 18 Reel Movie Award, Silver Lotus or The Rajat Kamal Award, and the Jagran Film Festival Award, are a part of his illustrious career.
