Dr. Shailesh Srivastav is an Indian musician and singer. She was born on 6 April 1959 in Uttar Pradesh to an affluent and prestigious family. Dr. Shailesh Srivastav received musical training from a young age. Dr. Shailesh Srivastav considers life to be a celebration, and that the best way to express ourselves throughout this journey is through music. Dr. Shailesh Srivastav claimed that it was her mission to explore her inner self and the beauty around her through her music. Along with being a singer and performer, Dr. Shailesh Srivastav is also considered to be a profound thinker and writer. She received her Ph.D. from SNDT University in Mumbai. Her thesis was on ‘Folk and Media’. 

As a skilled singer, Dr. Shailesh Srivastav has the ability to sing in multiple languages. This includes Sindhi, Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, Bhojpuri, Himachali, Sanskrit, Marathi, Haryanvi, Awadhi, and Dogri. Dr. Shailesh Srivastav has also worked in the film industry by providing vocals for movie tracks. In 1993, Dr. Shailesh performed at the World Hindi Conference in Mauritius. She continued her musical journey by participating in the Asian Music Festival in Bali, Indonesia, in 1996. The following year, she showcased her talent at the Shark Taranalori Festival in Samarkand, Russia, in 1997. Moving forward, her performances took her to the USA in 2003, followed by appearances in Trinidad & Tobago, Guyana, and New Amsterdam in 2005. Dr. Shailesh's empanelment as an artiste of the Indian Council of Cultural Relations (ICCR) added to her accomplishments. Throughout the years, she displayed her musical talents at various renowned platforms, such as the Sahitya Kala Parishad in New Delhi, the Punjabi Academy in New Delhi, and the Hindi Academy in New Delhi. She also made her mark at N.C.P.A. in Mumbai, the World Trade Fair in New Delhi, and, in September 2007, the Badal Raag Festival at Bharat Bhavan in Bhopal.
