Satish Vyas

Satish Vyas was born on November 16, 1952. Satish had a great interest in music and learned vocal music from his father. Although Satish learned music, still he had a craze on the Santoor recital. Pandit Shiv Kumar decided Satish Vyas to have under him. Satish was a concert artist performing all over India and the world.

Satish Vyas popularized the fame of Santoor by not only in small villages and towns in India but abroad as well. He performed in Italy at the "Mostra Mozart Festival," organized by the prestigious European Mozart Foundation. Satish Vyas exposed his versatility as a "guest musician” accompanying the renowned vocalist Shankar Mahadevan.

Before deciding to make music his profession, Satish Vyas had completed his education with a Bachelor's degree (B.Sc) in Mathematics followed by Master's degrees in Statistics (M.Sc.) And the Business Administration (MBA). On the back of sound academic background, he began to establish a career in the business world.

His corporate career took him to work with rather well-known organizations such as ICICI, NCPA, Philips, and HMV. At NCPA, he got a chance to work with Pu La Deshpande.

Past ten years, he was the director of Navras Records in India. He has very highly developed interpersonal skills and sensitivity as well as an understanding of the practical world of business. Combining these with his music prowess has resulted in his success and acknowledgment in the world of Indian classical music as a very significant, multi-faceted and much-respected individual.
