Manndakini Bora, a celebrated playback singer, stage artist, and a solid performer, made a place for herself in the music world with her top-notch tracks.

The versatile singer was born on June 12 at Jorhat district in Assam. During her childhood days, music kept her fascinated as her grandfather taught music to several musical figures. So she started learning classical music from her grandfather. Following her love for music, she completed her Master’s degree from Bhatkhande Music Institute in Lucknow. After graduation, she worked at Standard Chartered Bank for three years, and then she joined the Social Welfare Department by writing government exams. But soon she realized that it was not where she belongs. So she quit the job and pursued music full time. Manndakini is happily married to Deepak Kumar Kedia, and the couple has two daughters.

The singer who has performed many hit numbers started her career in music by appearing in the musical reality show Super Singer in Channel V, where she emerged as one of the finalists. In 1997, the first album of her career was released by her father in the Assamese. Since then, she has sung several Assamese folk songs and her total count of albums in Assamese accounts over a whopping sixty thousand. Her most popular work in the Assamese, which gave her breakthrough, was Pakhi by Zubin Garg. Manndakini Bora’s Assamese version of ‘Dil Dil Hoom Hoom Kare’ in her spectacular voice became a viral hit and increased her fan base.

Manndakini gave her first break in film playback singing with the film Tishnagi in 2018. Following it, she has rendered her voice for the movie Karim Mohommed in the same year. Manndakini not just sung for big stars but also worked with great singers like Arjit Singh in Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster 3 starring Sanjay Dutt July 29, 1959, was the day when the two legends of >> Read More... in the lead role. Her acclaimed albums include Chappan Churi, Banjara, Heer, Mujhse Juda Hona Nahi, and many more. Manndakini has been associated with T-Series and Zee Music for a long time.

Besides singing, she has a remarkable talent in writing Ghazals and her Ghazals have been sung by the very popular Ghulam Ali Khan and Farhat Shahzad. Manndakini, who is quite active in Assamese, Hindi, Punjabi, and Bengali, likes to spend her free time in artworks. Apart from singing and acting in albums, she produces and is planning to open a production company. Manndakini, being a social worker, also takes so much care about the society, and she is part of the Save the Girl Child Mission.

Manndakini has managed to outshine herself by being a prominent personality in singing and stage performance over ten years. Over the last decade, Manndakini has done more than 200 live performances and received several award nominations, including Best Female Debut Singer at PTC Music Award for Rohiyan in 2017, Best Iconic Singer of the year 2019 for Chappan Churi at Midday Gaurav Iconic Awards and Women Achievers Award in 2014.
