Indian American prodigy Bindu Subramaniam is a singer-songwriter. She was born as Seeta Subramaniam to violinist L. Subramaniam and vocalist and thumpuru player Viji Subramaniam. She is the granddaughter of Carnatic musician V Lakshminarayana. She wrote her first song at the young age of seven and had her first concert when she was just twelve. Her debut album, Surrender was released in 2011. The lead vocalist of Thayir Sadam Project and SubraMania, she is also a lyricist and music director.
 Her educational background is just as impressive as her musical journey. She is the holder of several degrees. She has a postgraduate law degree, a master’s certificate in songwriting and music business, a Ph.D. in music education, and a diploma in Montessori education. She is also an entrepreneur and co-founder of SaPa, Subramaniam Academy of Performing Arts. She has received several awards and nominations. She was a finalist in the Unisong International Song Contest. She was nominated for Best Pop/ Rock Album at the 2011 GIMA Awards. She was able to get Honourable Mentions at the Billboard World Song Contest. She also won the 2010 GIMA for Best Fusion Album. She is married to Sanjeev Nayak and has a daughter, Mahati Subramaniam.
