Smruti Choudhury

Smruti Choudhury is a pioneer in every sphere she has worked in, from TV, digital media, to advertising. She has spent considerable time and effort in developing projects and leading them, as a result, she has worked on and completed many successful projects. Choudhury was one of the jury members of the Asian Academy Creative Awards since 2019. Besides her media achievements, Smruti is also a holder of AGILE Project Management certificate given by google, which shows her intention to broaden her horizons. She is a freelance writer and has placed “Boys Locker Room" on Netflix for development, which she did successfully. She has been developing pitch bibles for projects with Amazon MiniTV and SonyLiv.

Over the years, Smruti’s career has encompassed senior positions with leading media organizations. She was the National Creative Lead for Zee5 and was responsible for the creative production significant projects such as Abhay and The Sholay Girl. While with TVF, she was part of the team that helped make popular series like Tripling (Season 1 & 3), Girls Hostel (Season 2), Hostel Daze (Season 2 & 3) and Immatures (Season 2). As a Creative Consultant at Disney India Local Content Studio, Smruti’s contribution was immense while making of the”Dahan” series on Hotstar. She owns her own digital media communications agency called 42 Online and was conferred the honour of a ‘Woman of Excellence’ at the STARup Summit in 2016.

Her patronage of the media does not stop at her career. Smruti participated in the Media Collegium 2016 as a panellist with Satya Raghavan of YouTube and Rishi Jaitly of Twitter, where she made commented on New Media. She is keen to introduce the new approaches related to media and the entertainment of the society and is doing well towards this course direction of the industry. Smruti is well educated and has a Post Graduate Diploma in Radio & Television Journalism from the renowned IIMC, New Delhi where she achieved a First Grade and in Chemistry from Utkal University where she also received a First Grade. While studying at Utkal University, she was an active participant of National Service Scheme (NSS). In her spare time, Smruti has many hobbies which include, trekking, cooking, planting and looking after the plants, dancing by the classical dance form Odissi, and handling the business of Messers Mohan & Meakin.
