Shrirang Godbole

Shrirang Godbole is an Indian-origin writer, actor, producer, and director. On 15th June 1960, he was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He started his career as a theatre artist in 1979. He initially joined a Theatre Academy in Pune and acted in Jabbar Patel’s Ghashiram Kotwal, Padgham, and Satish Alekar’s Mahanirvan, Pralay, Bhint, and Atireki. He started writing scripts and plays in 1986. He has also directed many films and plays. In 2012, he wrote the script for the Marathi serial Eka Lagnachi Dusri Goshta. The show’s plot revolves around a guy named Ghanshyam and a girl named Radha.

Both individuals are ambitious and very dedicated to their dreams. Ghanshyam wanted to shift to America for his dream life, and Radha works at an advertising agency and lives with her parents. Radha and Ghanshyam did not want to get married, but their families pressures them because of their age. After many denials and disagreements, Ghanshyam and Radha finally chose to give a chance and meet each other on a date arranged by their parents. After meeting each other, they realized, they do not want to get married and are tired of listening to their family nagging them about getting married. So, they decided to do a contract marriage where they'll divorce each other after one year. But, after getting married, they end up falling for each other. They went through a series of events and realized that their family is more important to them than their goals.

And so, the duo gets married happily and goes to America for their honeymoon. In 2013, Srirang created a Marathi serial called Shejari Shejari Pakke Shejari. Vinod Lavekar directed the serial. And it starred Anand Ingale, Vaibhav Mangle, Sulekha Talwalkar, Mandar Kulkarni, Shivani Rangole, etc. In 2013, he created Eka Lagnachi Teesri Goshta.
