Sabrina Dhawan

Sabrina Dhawan is a producer and screenwriter from India. She was born in England. Later on, she came to Delhi, India, and spent her initial days of childhood in Delhi only. At the Tisch School of the Arts situated in New York University, Sabrina has worked as an associate professor. She has also worked as an area head of screenwriting, there.

She has written for many big companies like HBO, ABC Family, Disney, and 20th Century Fox, etc. Sabrina Dhawan has completed her high school education from the schools named “Delhi Public School” and “Convent of Jesus and Mary.” After that, she has completed her degree of graduation from Hindu College situated in Delhi, and affiliated to Delhi University. She has done the degree of B.A. (Bachelor of Arts) from there. Later on, she went to Leicester University situated in U.K. (United Kingdom) and completed her master’s degree.

She has done Master’s in Arts (M.A.) in communication research. After that, Sabrina Dhawan went to Columbia University situated in NYC (New York City) where she completed Graduate Film Program of Columbia University in the year 2001. She has also done Masters’ of Fine Arts in Filmmaking. Sabrina Dhawan is popular for her writing skills, and she has written for many feature-length films. Along with this, Sabrina has also directed and produced many short films independently. She has also worked in Bollywood. Sabrina Dhawan made her debut as a screenwriter with the film named “Monsoon Wedding” which was released in the year 2001 and was directed by Mira Nair Mira Nair, a veteran Filmmaker, based in New York >> Read More... . When she was in her school, Sabrina wrote her first draft of the screenplay, and that too in one week. The script of a movie named “Monsoon Wedding” was written by Sabrina with the fusion of three different languages like Punjabi, English, and Hindi. The movie was nominated for many awards which also includes Golden Globe Award. In the year 2006, Sabrina Dhawan got married to Steve Cohen who was also a screenwriter.
