Dikssha Jyote Routray is an Indian Director, Producer, and Writer who predominantly works in the Hindi film industry. She grew up in the city of Darbhanga in Bihar. Dikssha Jyote Routray started studying at Rose Public School and completed her schooling at Holy Cross High School. After that, she received her Bachelor’s Degree from Miranda House at the University of Delhi. Then Dikssha Jyote Routray got a Post Graduate Diploma in Journalism from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication.

Dikssha Jyote Routray initially wanted to pursue a career in Advertising and even worked as a copywriter for many reputed firms and advertising agencies such as Rediffusion Y & R, F.C.B. Dikssha Jyote Routray made her debut as a director and writer in 2015 with the release of her short film, ‘The Ideal Bride.’ Later, in 2019, she released her second short film ‘Red Velvet,’ which received a positive reaction from critics and audiences alike and was screened at film festivals across the globe, including the Women's Film Festival in San Diego and the Indian Film Festival of Melbourne.‘Red Velvet’ also received a nomination in the Best Short Film category at the Filmfare Awards in 2019.
