The series is inspired from the book ‘Behind Bars in Bycula’ which is based on a real life incident of Journalist Jigna Vora.

Jagruti Pathak is a ambitious crime reporter who manages to secure major scoops through her incredible abilities of handling  situation and connections with police officials and criminals. But later on, her ambition becomes a trap of a conspiracy and her life takes a 360 degree turn when the murder of a renowned journalist Jaideb Sen takes place. Due to immense contribution of Sen in journalism, his murder becomes a sensitive issue for the nation and entire nation demands  for justice.

In the entire process of investigation Jagruti, gets falsely accused for being involved in his murder along with underworld gangstar Chota Rajan. Jagruti faces three struggles together-struggle behind the bar with other prisoners, struggle in the career  and struggle to prove herself innocent. The entire series deals with the deadly combination of ambition, conspiracy, mystery and struggle.
