Ayesha Anna Ninan, a filmmaker, has served as a producer, director, and editor in various short films. She owns a commercial production house in Mumbai. She has produced and directed various short films in Singapore, Vietnam, and India. She completed her graduation in BA from university of Virginia, and holds an MFA in film production from Tisch School of Arts Asia of New York University. She started her career by setting up her production department at actor and comedian Vir Das’s company. She began her career as an editor, and wrote and directed her own short films. Initially, she worked at Pixion as an editor for commercials and documentaries. She also served as a development consultant at Sikhya Entertainment. Later, she collaborated on commercials, short films, and music videos across Southeast Asia that was screened at festivals across the world. Her work has screened at festivals such as Aspen Shortfest , Palm Springs International Shortfest, Claremont Ferrand, and more.
She also runs a non-fiction book review blog and writes for other publications as well. In the initial phase of her career, she served as a Cinematographer in Love Motel (2016), additional editor in Beyond Bollywood (2013), assistant editor in Puddin' (2012), writer in Fading Fields (2018), and Tara Versus (2018), in camera and Electrical Department in Ô Rûshî! (2014), The Long Drum (2014), and Ash (2012). She worked as an Editor and senior editor in Puddin (2012), The Long Drum (2014), The Drone and the Kid (2017), Tara Versus (2018), Fading Fields (2018), Bhak: 'Pilot' (2018), The Twist (2020), PP Petals (TV Series) in 2022, and Going Poly: Love Beyond Monogamy (2024). She also played the role of a Producer in several movies and series like A Proud Woman (2014), Pretty M John (2016), Claudia Enriquez, Abner Delina, and Norris John in The Banaue Boy (2015), Disco Obu (2017), Fading Fields (2018), Tara Versus (2018), and Menu Please (2019–2023), and as a director in Director Fading Fields (2018), Tara Versus (2018), and Water (2012). Also, as a Second Unit and Assistant Director in Claudia Enriquez, Abner Delina, and Norris John in The Banaue Boy (2015). She got the fame for Tara Versus (2018), Fading Fields (2018) and The Banaue Boy (2015) after her short films received a Hollywood Foreign Press Association grant, were premiered at the Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles and were screened in the US and Europe during its festival run.
