Akshay Parija

Akshay Parija was born on 12th May 1954 in Jagatsinghpur in Odisha. Alekha Bihari Parija and Khetramani are his parents. Akshay went to Jagannathpur High School in Tiran. He graduated from Utkal University and went to the US to study business at the Harvard Business School. Akshay is a banker by profession. He worked in Burgan Bank in Kuwait from 1983 to 1991. Later, he served for seven years in the National Bank of Oman. He had also served various positions in Bank Muscat Forex. Besides the banks in Kuwait and Oman, he also worked in India's banks, including Indian Overseas Bank at Bissam Cuttack. He is the founder of Blue Lines Shipping Group and is the Executive Director.

In 2008, he produced Jianta Bhoota, directed by Prashant Nanda. The film won the National Film Awards for the Best Film on Environment Conservation/Preservation. In the same year, it won Mohan Sundar Deb Goswami Awards for the Best Film. It also received the Special recognition Film Award at OMAN Green Awards in 2011. Besides this, the film grabbed him the Membership Achievement Award for producing the film at OSA, San Francisco. At the 6th Muscat Film Festival, it grabbed the Jury Award for Best Foreigner Film. Kehi Nuhe Kahara grabbed Mohan Sundar Deb Goswami Awards for Best Feature Film in 2015, Best Supporting Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Lyrics, Best Sound, Best Costume, and Best Make-up. Kadvi Hawa won him the National Film Award. Paika Bidroha, the Odia telefilm, received the Best Tele-Film Award at 30th State Tele Awards with Best Director, Best DOP, and Best Editor. Bhija Mati Ra Swarga had also won the Mohan Sundar Dev Goswami Best Film Award at 30th State Film Awards. It also received Best Actor, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, and Best DOP Awards. Akshay is married, and he has a daughter, Payal Parija.
