Amit Jogi was born on 7th August 1977 in Dallas, Texas. He is an Indian politician. Jogi was graduated from St Stephen's College in Delhi in 1998, and he holds a master's degree in politics and international studies from Jawaharlal Nehru University in Delhi. He also has an LLB from Pandit Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University, Raipur.
In the 2013 general election, he became the MLA, representing Marwahi (Vidhan Sabha Constituency, Chhattisgarh). He defeated the Bharatiya Janata Party candidate with the highest difference in the state, 46,250 votes. On 23rd July 2011, Amit Jogi was attacked by a mob while campaigning for Tanya Solomon from Indian National Congress for a by-poll. Tanya is the daughter of the late Ratnesh Solomon, who served as MLA five times from Jabera. Ratnesh is Ajit's brother-in-law.
INC expelled Jogi on 7th January 2017 for six years for involving in anti-party activities. The Jogis founded Chhattisgarh Janata Congress after they were removed from the INC.
