Dushyant Kumar is an Indian poet, dramatist, litterateur, and translator who was known for Hindi literature. He is recognized as one of the foremost Hindi poets of the 20th century. He was born on September 1, 1931 in Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh. He completed his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh. He was married to Rajeshwari Tyagi. He wrote many poems and earned a name for his Ghazal in Hindi. “Sirf hungaama khada karna mera maqsad nahin, saari koshish hai, ki yeh soorat badalni chahiye” poems were used by Star Plus for the promotion of Satyameva Jayte. The poem “Tu kisi rail si guzarti hai” line was used as a song in the movie, “ Masaan Click to look into! >> Read More... .” The Indian Department of Posts issued a commemorative stamp with Dushyant Kumar’s image on it, in September 2009. A museum dedicated to Dushyant Kumar exists in C.T.T. Nagar, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The house of Dushant was broken by the administration of the Smart City Project and that was criticized by several leading people.
