Alisha Batth

Alisha Batth is an Indian singer and songwriter, who is well-known for single, “flood.” She was born in Punjab and later, moved to Arunachal Pradesh when she was 2 years old. She grew up in Arunachal Pradesh with her parents. She completed her schooling at Arunachal Pradesh. Alisha Batth used to play Badminton in her school’s junior Badminton Team. After completing her 10, she moved to Delhi to complete her further studies. As a kid, she used to play violin. At first, she used to play violin because it was compulsory to play an instrument, but after quite a time, she got used to it and loved playing the violin a lot. She was not into music at first, but after moving to Delhi, she developed a keen interest in music. She was the part of her school band and used to play guitar.

She gave various performances when she was in her school. Her band also participated in various competitions and used to win them too. She was bass guitarist at first, and later became the singer of the band. After completing her schooling at Delhi, she decided to move to Mumbai for higher education. There she was the part of her college band and used to play in college fests as well. She won various competitions held and were appreciated for her talents. She was inspired by artists like Ani DiFranco, Patti Smith, and Melissa Etheridge. The kind of music they used to sing inspired her a lot. At the age of 17, she started writing songs and building music for them too. In 2008, a year later after she came to Mumbai, she started doing LIVE performances. She used to play in various clubs such as, Jazz by the Bay Back, Hard Rock Café, Blue Frog, and much more.

Although, her first proper gig was at Hard Rock Café, which made her popular. After that, when Blue Frog came to Mumbai, she started playing there. At Blue Frog, she was the first cover artist to play. Her shows were of two hours. From there, she got a lot of exposure. She also started her own YouTube channel, where she used to post the song covers. She always wanted to write quality songs and tried very hard for it. Later, she made her debut with the song Flood. She wrote the song herself. The song gained a lot of views on YouTube. Later, she sung Follow, which was also written by her. After gaining popularity from her songs, she was offered to sing a song in Coke Studio.
