Pervez Quadir is an independent Indian singer, songwriter, poet, composer and ideologue. He works primarily in the rock genre but has also worked on the pop genre. Born on February 16, 1965, in the prominent city of Kolkata, he did his schooling from Darjeeling, and Kolkata; from St. Joseph’s College, Darjeeling and St. Paul’s Boarding and Day school, Kolkata respectively. He further did his graduation in Economics and Political Sciences from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata.
He knows an array of languages including English, Hindi, Urdu, Nepali, and Bengali. He started working in 1981 as a voice artist with the All India Radio on a show called ‘Yuvavaani’ based on Western music. Subsequently, he worked as a recording artist for various sought-after names in the industry, such as HMV, Archies Music, and Sony BMG. He has been working as an independent artist since 1985. During this period, he had a short stint working with the UTV motion pictures, as a Creative Consultant.
He has sung in the Asian music industry since 1989. During this period, he has been a part of over 3000 TV commercials in various languages for a long list of top notch brands and production houses. He composed, wrote and sung his songs and got an album with Sony BMG titled ‘Dard-e-Dil.’ He has been working in collaboration with some of the most popular bands and artists involved in the rock and pop genre, in the country. He has performed with bands such as X-Factor, Shiva, Neon and Utopian Dream. Quadir has also had the opportunity to sing for some Bollywood films as well.
He expresses his desire to record a Eurasian music album and to perform across the world. Being a highly creative person, Quadir says that he would like to extend creative boundaries in an unprecedented manner in the Music and Film industry. He has shown an inclination to write, produce and direct a movie in the future if he gets a suitable opportunity.
He is also a poetry enthusiast and has been writing poems during his career as an artist. Pervez has been working under the label of Magic Wand and PRISM, the former being his latest name for his one-person band. He likes the work of artists like Mohit Chauhan, Fariha Pervez, Shreya Ghoshal and Noorie.
Some of the well-known songs that Pervez has to his credit are ‘Hum Ek Hain,’ ‘Babul Mora’ and ‘Tere ishq ne nachaaya.’ In a giant and bustling music industry, Pervez M Quadir has carved out a niche for himself and his music and has been entertaining thousands since a long time.
Rashi Ragga is a trained classical singer. She is very talented and gave her debut with the song Nanke in the year 2014. Her versatility and her bubbly behavior lighten up the set. Rashi is born and brought up in Mumbai. She belongs to a musical background. Her mother is a classical vocalist in the ALL INDIA RADIO, Delhi. Her grandfather was a sitar guru. He used to teach Maharaja Hanumant Singhji of Jodhpur, Rajasthan. He also used to teach Maharaja’s sister, Baiji Lal. Most of the Sitar pieces in Bollywood music, in the years between 1953 to 1985 were played by Rashi’s father. She is fluent in languages including English, Hindi, and Punjabi. Rashi is not only trained in classical music but also a trained classical dancer.
She enjoys to interact with the audience and is an extrovert. Her good looks and skills add to an overwhelming first impression on the audience. Rashi started learning classical music at a minor age; she enjoyed learning music as well as instruments. At the age of three, she admired singers like Rihanna, Beyonce, lady gaga, Michael Jackson, and Neyo. She is studying music from Royal College of Music in London. Rashi has worked with Aman Hayer in the Brit-Asian industry and also unruffled some songs with him. She has sung songs with famous singers including Harbhajan Mann and Sukhshinder Shinda.
She is nominated for the Brit Asia Music Awards. She is been nominated for the best female artist, PTC. After her 1st song Nanke, she sang for the film Bajirao Mastani. This film is a historical movie and is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, starring Ranbir Singh, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra. She sang two songs for the film which are Albela Sajan and Jayabheri. Both of these songs require professionally trained classical singing and a soothing voice. Rashi is nominated for the Punjabi Music Best Pop Vocalist Award. She is a future vocalist of the film industry and is working for her further projects in Punjabi as well as the Hindi language.
