The two brothers, Abhijeet and Prasenjit have their names registered in the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge 2007 and Indian Idol 4 as one of the finalists. In Marathi version of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Abhijeet Kosambi was the winner in the first season. Born in 1982, music came in Abhijeet's life as an interest and hobby. But after a bit of recognition of his magical voice, he started learning Classical music on the advice of artists Ram Nagarkar and Nilu Phule After his matric, he decided to go for a Diploma in Shivaji University, Kolhapur as an apprentice to Bharati Vaishampayan and his staff.

He also went to R.C Shahu College in Kohlapur. His brother Prasenjit was a similar prodigy. He was the eldest son and started singing very early at the age of four. He could play Tabla with dexterity at the age of twelve. Both the Kosambi brothers owe a lot to Pandit Arun Kulkarni, with whom they have spent hours and hours learning classical music for days on end. Carrying this landmark forward, both the brothers roped fame in reality singing shows.

Abhijeet won the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Ma Marathi and stood at 11th position in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge of 2007 after public voting. Prasenjit was also a fantastic contender for Indian Idol 4. He cleared the inaugural part of the show and ended among the 22 selected contestants. Abhijeet sang songs ranging from the classicism of Kishore Kumar to the notes and scales of Udit Narayan and Sonu Nigam, incorporating an impressive blend of Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2007.

Prasenjit Kosambi considers Mohammad Rafi to be his idol. The two brothers came together to compose Marathi music for films and had further plans to augment the Marathi heritage. Abhijeet went on to become an immensely revered and loved personality in Maharashtra. He left his job to become a full-time singer and was eventually entitled 'Maharashtracha Pahila Mahagaayak' in 2006. The artists believed that there was still a long way to go for them, but have lost their popularity in the hefty competition.
