Smitha Belluri

Smitha Rao Belluri is a Hindustani classical (Khyal) and Sufi devotional vocalist (Qawwali) singer. She was born in North Karnataka as the third child of K.L. Bhagwat, Arjunsa Nakod, Pandit Balachandra Nakod and Pandit Rajbahu Sontakke among several others. She has a master's degree from BITS Pilani and a Bachelor of Engineering from Bangalore University. Before giving her full-time focus on her passion-turned-profession, she worked in software multi-national companies like Oracle, and the German software giant SAP. She has also been a senior faculty at the Shankar Mahadevan Academy. She is also involved in a fellowship research project sponsored by the Karnataka Sangeeta Nritya Academy and the India Foundation for the Arts.

She routinely broadcasts as a graded artiste on India's national broadcasting network, All India Radio/Doordarshan, as well as media/TV Networks and radio stations, and also on Apple Music, Spotify, Gaana, Saavn, and Amazon Music, among other services Her absolute devotion to her craft in soul and spirit makes her a well-known artist of present times.
