Harish Tiwari

Harish Tiwari, born in Deoria District of Uttar Pradesh, is a classical music artist of Kirara Gharana. He is also an assistant professor at the University of Delhi and teaches Hindustani Classical Music (Vocal) there. He started teaching at the University of Delhi in 2009 to the present date. He completed his school-level education from the U.P. board, Allahabad in 1982 and has a senior diploma in music from the Faculty of Performing Arts at Banaras Hindu University. He went on to pursue a degree in B.Sc. Music from the Faculty of Performing Arts, B.H.U.

He has an MA in Music from the Faculty of Music and Fine Arts, University of Delhi, which he completed in 1999. After his MA, he did an M.Phil in Music from the Faculty of Music and Fine Arts from the University of Delhi in the year 2000. He also holds a Ph.D. in Music from the University of Delhi. Harish Tiwari has done many certifications in various musical disciplines over the years, like Sangeet Alankaar from A.B.G.M.M in Mumbai, in 1992. He specializes in Hindustani Classical Music (vocal) and teaches the subject at the University of Delhi. 

Harish Tiwari has written two books which are named Hindustani Sangeet Me Purvi Thaat Ke Raag, and Manch Pradarshan mein Kalakar Avam Shrotaon ki Bhumika. He is an impanel artist in CCRT and ICCR and a regular performer of SPIC-MACAY. He regularly attends musical programs all over the country like the Sawai Gandharawa Sangeet Samaroh in Puna 2013, Sawai Gandharawa Sangeetosav in Kundgol, Karnataka in September of 2016, Sangeet Parishad Varanasi in 2008, and 2012.

Harish Tiwari has achieved great levels of success in his musical and teaching career. He has been honored with many awards for his service to the music industry, like the Junior Fellowship Award (National) from Human Resources Development 2002, the Senior Fellowship Award (National) from Human Resources Development 2009, the Surmani Award by Sursingar Sansad Mumbai 2002, the Honour of Naad Shri by Musical Odyssey, Naadaura, Delhi, 2013, Gaan Shrishti Samman 2016, Plate of Honour Pathancort in 2010.
