Amartya Rahut

Amartya Rahut, also known as Amartya Bobo Rahut comes from The City of Joy, Kolkata. Amartya was raised amidst an immense influence on rock music. He concluded his education at St.Xavier’s Collegiate School, Mumbai. His journey in the music industry started in the Xavier’s College Band, as lead guitar beating many tough contenders. A devout of Beautles, Amartya’s first venture as a music composer in Bollywood, was in the movie Dead End in 2004. His next venture in Bollywood was as a music composer for the movie, Uttarayan.

Since then he has composed music for several movies, including Toffee released in the year 2005, Aagey Se Right Click to look into! >> Read More... released in the year 2009, Aurangzeb released in the year 2013, and Mr. Joe B Carvalho released in the year 2014.

Bobo has produced films, albums and singles like Shaam Simti, Kaisi Ho, Darbaan, Tu Hai Mera Sunday, Tsav, Aurangzeb, Uttarayan, Tumhari Sulu, Yadon Ke Idiot Box Mein, Om The Fusion Band and more. Bobo has also composed music for over 2500 TV commercials and some of the biggest brands and campaigns including Godrej, ITC, McDonald's, Hero Motocorp, Bharti AXA, HDFC Bank, Max New York, Haywards, Kingfisher IPL, Kurkure, Mirinda and many more. Bobo won the Bronze Award for Best Soundtrack at the Cannes International Festival of Creativity for the Levi's Slim Fit commercial. He has also received the Promax Award for Best Song for MTV/Nickelodeon's Jingle Bell - Bhangra Version. To date, he has composed many songs. After completing his education and higher education. Bobo decided to become a songwriter because he thought it would allow him to spread his art and he knew he would be successful. Bobo chose to seek a bigger canvas and in 2001 decided to shift base to Mumbai. After going through a painful but very rich struggle, he survived and grew up in one of the most competitive cities in the world. Bobo eventually managed to become one of the leading music and producers in the advertising industry.
