Sarthak Sardana

Sarthak Sardana is an Indian DJ, musician, and music producer. Born on 24 July 1988, he is better known as Sartek, his stage name. Originally from New Delhi, Sartek's preferred career choice was becoming a chartered accountant, for which he passed the main exams. Formerly, he worked for a large corporation before turning to full-time musician. Sarthak had no idea what dance music was until he attended a legendary trance DJ show by Ferry Corsten in 2007. He was inspired by the gig and the vibes there that he changed his perspective on music.

In 2009, while taking CA classes, he joined an academy in Delhi to pursue his love for dance music. It took him four years to learn the art of production before he released his first track for Tiesto's record label, Magik Muzik, his first official breakthrough. Sartek even has his podcast on the platform Soundcloud, which is named after his hit song "Back to the Future." All of his releases are on Beatport's Top 100 charts, and he is the first Indian DJ on Hardwell's Revealed Recordings.

Sartek has also released albums on international record labels like Armada Music and Sony Music. He is also known in specific EDM global circles for releasing his 2013 debut single 'Apocalypse' on Tiesto's Magik Muzik label, which is also a first for an Indian producer. Sartek played tracks such as Dopamine, Back to the Future, and Don't Need Love which topped electronic music aggregator Beatport's electro house charts and was broadcast by DJs such as David Guetta and Armin Van Buuren. Sartek is supported and encouraged by Martin Garrix, the number 1 DJ on DJ Mag's top 100 list for 2016.
