Chitragupta Shrivastava was born on 16th Novemeber 1917 and he is ideally known as Citragupta in the Bollywood film industry. He was a successful music director and made a great revolution in the field as a musician. He had apparently composed one of the great masterpieces of the Bollywood cinema. It had made a literal sensation to the other composers and his ardent fan followers. He was best known in the decades of the 1950s and 1960s.
The best movies that he had worked and composed includes Ek Raaz, Zabak, Bada Aadmi, Aplam Chaplam, and so forth. His place of birth was Sawreji. It is a small place which is situated in the Gopalganj, Bihar. Both of his sons, namely Milind and Anand had started to follow his footsteps and finally had become the music directors like him. The primitive fact and reason is that they had worked as assistant music directors for films with his father.

Chitragupta had joined hands with the AVM productions of the down south of Indian film industry. Citragupta passed away on 14th January 1991.
