Andrew T. Mackay is a very popular British Composer, Arranger, Producer, and conductor as well. He is popular for Middle Eastern and Indian Orchestra. He is the Co-founder of the Bombay Dub Orchestra. He studied music at the London College of Music where he studied clarinet, piano, and composition as well.

 His tutor was John McCabe and Dr. Lloyd-Webber. At the London College of Music, he was the winner of the Director’s Prize for his amazing composition named as Malentendu. His grandfather was Luciano Francesco Paggi.

Luciano was an incredible Italian flutist, painter and freedom fighter as well. His uncle named M.M Paggi, was the first sound engineer in the Hollywood industry in 1920’s. He has another family member,  who was a great make-up artist in the United Kingdom who had worked with many popular artists such as Laurence Olivier and Marilyn Monroe.

In Bombay Dub Orchestra, he has worked with many famous people like Bob Marley, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Bebel Gilberto, Azam Ali, Natasha Atlas, Ceu, Juno Reactor, Dizzy Rosza and many more. He has the license of lot tracks for television and films in the UK, US and many other countries as well. He also did the opening track of the famous Hollywood film named, Iron Man 3.

He also did the music for the Marathi film Raakshas, Indian feature film, Bombairiya and much more. He also did the music for the short film named as Monsoon which got released in the year 2014 in Toronto, People’s Choice Award.

He won the Best Music Score Award in the year 2008 for his amazing work in the feature film named, Little Box Of Sweets. He did the music for the film Florida Road and did a splendid job, as it was a mix of Semi-Classical Indian Vocals and African Choir.

He also worked on many ballets and contemporary dance works, which performed around the globe. He is also the Lab Director and Co-Founder of the Music Composers Lab. He has done many Indian projects as well some of them are Dhoom 3, Mohenjo-Daro, Kabali, Bairavaa, Befikre, Power Paandi, 24 and much more.

He got the best Composer award in the year 2017, at the Rajasthan International Film Festival. He also won the Grand Jury Award, at the South Asian International Film Festival for the Little box of sweets. He also got many awards at Visual Festivals for his music. He has contributed a lot to the industry and done a lot of splendid work.

Debojyoti Mishra, a renowned music composer of Indian cinema, was born on 1st January 1960, Friday at Dinajpur, Bangladesh with a zodiac sign Capricorn. He has composed music for more than 40 movies in different languages till now. He has worked as a music composer for several award-winning National and International films of the renowned directors such as Mrinal Sen, Rituporno Ghosh, Aparna Sen, Govind Nihalani, Bhavna Talwar, Amol Palekar, Florian Gallenberger, Subroto Sen, Abhijit Chowdhury, Urmi Chakraborty and much more. Debojyoti was brought up at K.M.Naskar Road, Tollygunge. His father Jahnabi Ranjan Mishra was a disciple of the legendary violinists like Ustad Ali Khan and Shishir Konya Dhar Choudhary from whom Debojyoti learned violin. Debashis, the elder brother of Debojyoti, was also playing violin but didn’t take it as a profession. Debojyoti acquired his diploma in western classical music under Professor Joseph Naskar and the renowned composer and musician Stanley Gomes from the Royal School of Music, London in 1978. He has completed his training in Indian classical music under Late K.C Bandopadhayay and the legend Pandit Bhimsen Joshi. He has learned Guitar and Piano under the guidance of Slililda. He has started his musical journey at a tender age of 3 under the musical canopy of his father and many more musical legends. He worked as a music composer in 1992 with the movie “Kahini” directed by Malay Bhattacharya. Before that, he was the solo violinist of the great filmmaker and Oscar award winner Satyajit Ray in films like ‘Pikoo’, Ghare Baire, ‘Ganashatru’ and Goopy Bagha Phire Elo. He has started his music career with the nationally acclaimed music composer and director Salil Chowdhury as his chief assistant for 14 long years. During 1988-89, he was also the chief assistant of ‘Illayaraja’, the most renowned music director of South India. Bicycle was his first music album written and composed by himself and genuinely appreciated by the musical legends. In 1998 he has composed music for the film “Hazaar Chaurasi Ki Maa” directed by Govind Nihalani which got the National Award in the category of best feature film in Hindi. But he got immense popularity as a music composer with the Hindi movie “Raincoat” directed by Rituparno Ghosh in 2004 and the Bengali film “Autograph” directed by Srijit Mukherji in 2010. He has composed music for “Dharam” a film directed by Bhavna Talwar which was screened at Cannes Film Festival in 2007. In the same year, the musical essence of Debojyoti crossed the boundary of the country with the music composition of the movie “Ramcchand Pakistani” directed by the Pakistani film director Mehreen Jabbar. He added another feather to his cap with his music in the movie “The Shadow Of Time” directed by the German Filmmaker Florian Gallenberger. In Bengal cinema world he has occupied the musical throne by composing music for the movies such as ‘Dahan’, ‘Asukh’, ‘Bariwali’, ‘Utsab’, ‘Titli’, Subho Muharat, Chokher Bali and ‘Antarmahal’ with effervescent melodies. Debojyoti is not only a music composer, but he is a poet, a lyricist, a painter and a violinist also. Poetry is his second choice after music. By the influence of his mother, he became a voracious reader of literary works at a very young age. He is strongly inspired by the works of Elliot, Tagore, Coleridge, Mallarme, Lorca, etc. which helped him a lot to rule over the lyrical-world of music. As a composer of more than 500 jingles, he is the aesthetic mind behind the success of many brands such as Berger Paints, Asian Paints, Haier Plasma, India Today and much more. He has composed a number of jingles in Bangla also. As a born painter, Debojyoti exhibited his first solo exhibition in ICCR Kolkata from 7th December to 14th December 2012 by Jyotirmay Bhattacharya, one of the youngest arranger of exhibitions. In this show, his creations were highly appreciated by the critics, media and the master artists as well and all his paintings were sold at a record time. Recently Mirage Art Gallery Kolkata exhibited the arts of Debojyoti along with the paintings of M. F. Hussain, Jogen Chowdhury, Paritosh Sen, Akbar Padamsee, Ganesh Pyne and other eminent artists. Last year the composer presented a breathtaking and spectacular programme “Ganner Golpo” in the inauguration of 35th NABC at Houston. He also presented the musical theater last year with more than 100 participants in Alberta Bengal Festival at Calgary. Presently Debojyoti is composing an album based on the theme of the epic “Mahabharata.” He is also working on a Bengal Opera for Bangladesh. He is also preparing his paintings for the “Colour Concerto,” an Art Exhibition for Bangladesh. On 1st January 2017, Debojyoti turned to age 57. As a person, he is very shy in nature. Even he cannot express his love towards somebody due to his shyness as per his confession. He does not attend parties, rather he feels comfortable with the company of some few friends. He loves loneliness. This might be the cause behind his heart touching lyricism in his songs. In the age of 47, he remarried Janoki, a trained singer. His ex-wife Parama is also a classical singer.


Alokananda Dasgupta

Alokananda Dasgupta is a Mumbai-based Indian classical pianist  and music composer,  who is  recognized for her work in Hindi, Marathi and Bengali cinema. She was born in Kolkata, India to a famous poet and movie-maker, Buddhadeb Dasgupta. She started learning piano at the age of 5 and completed her graduation with honours in English Literature from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata. She also completed her Master's in English Literature from the University of Calcutta. She studied film studies for two years and then went to Toronto, where she completed  Bachelor of Music with honours in Music Performance and Music Composition from York University. Alokananda has also been selected under the Composer and Sound Studio category of Berlin Talent Campus. While she was completing her Master’s, she decided to pursue her lifelong passion at York University. Since she was a classically trained Pianist and Piano teacher as well, she was naturally attracted towards music composition for films. After completing her degree, she became the music assistant of Amit Trivedi and regarded him as her Mentor. She also learned to programme in her composer's class and even worked with and under the guidance of foreign composers, Ellan and Jonathan. She assisted Amit Trivedi for various films like Vikramaditya Motwane's Udaan and another movie Aisha, which was released in 2010. Rajkumar Gupta's, No One Killed Jessica as well as Vikas Bahl, Nitesh Tiwari's, Chillar Party released in 2011, are also some of the projects she worked on. She debuted as a music composer with the Marathi film, Shala, a romantic- drama released in 2011.It was followed by another release in 2013, B.A. Pass, a Hindi neo-noir that was critically acclaimed. Another romantic drama that she worked on released in the same year, Fandry. Alokananda has also assisted her father in writing few of his films, composing the soundtrack for Woh, which is a feature film based on Rabindra Nath Tagore's novel Shey. Likewise, her such other works include Anwar Ka Ajab Kissa, Treyodoshi and Tope (The Bait). After producing some excellent music these movies, she worked in Asha Jaoar Majhe (Labour of Love), an award-winning Bengali Silent film that released in 2014. She has also received Prabhat Puraskar and the Sanskriti Kala Darshan award for the best background score in 2012 and 2014 respectively. More of her works include Geelee and Sniffer, the releases of 2013. Half Widow, a drama based on the lives of Kashmiri women and Flying Colours of 2016. Two of her latest films include Trapped that released on 17 March, 2017 and Aaba, a drama set in the remote village of Arunachal Pradesh. Apart from composing music for these well-known films, Alokananda has also worked in various Ad films, short films, and documentaries. Some of her other works are Amdavad Ma Famous, a Gujarati documentary; iPhone6; Pepsi and Kurkure and The Affair.
