Suparna did her schooling from Modern School, New Delhi. She has appeared in several movies in different languages. Suparna began her acting career in 1986 that spanned over a decade. She is most known for her highly acclaimed roles in the Malayalam films ‘Vaishali’ and ‘Jnan Gandharavan’. Both the movies won several awards. Suparna also appeared in Anil Kapoor-Madhuri Dixit starrer superhit movie ‘Tezaab’. She was roped in the role of Anil Kapoor’s younger sister Jyoti in this film. Suparna has done only about 12 films during her career, but she was one among the top promising actresses of Malayalam film industry during the late 80's. Her Malayalam film ‘Vaishali’, that released in 1988, is considered to be the best work of directors Bharathan and Padmarajan.
