Shefali Shah

The beautiful Shefali Shah is an actress of Indian origin. Born on July 1972, she belongs to Agra. However, she was born and brought up in Mumbai, where, her dream of being an actress came up. She belonged to a non-film background, her father working in RBI and mother being a homeopathy doctor. The actress found her way into Bollywood through daily soaps and her stupendous acting skills. She has worked in loads of Hindi movies. She made her debut in the drama Rangeela in 1995, sharing the silver screen with Urmila Matondkar and the perfectionist Aami Khan. The actress was seen in a crime movie Satya, where she played a supporting role. Some other movies, in which her acting skills were prevalent are Gandhi-My Father, Kuchh Luvv Jaisa.

Her role in ‘Waqt’ opposite Amitabh Bachchan and as the mother of Akshay Kumar, was acclaimed by critics. The lady was also seen as Ria Verma in the Monsoon Wedding, which was appreciated internationally. The various daily soaps in which she featured were- Banegi Apni Baat, Raahein, Kabhi Kabhi and Hasratein. The actress is known for her superb acting skills and is appreciated by critics and audience all over the world. She won the best-supporting-actress by critics in Filmfare Awards for the flick Satya. She was also the winner for best actress in Tokyo International Film Festival for her role as Vandana in The Last Lear. She bagged some prizes and awards which clearly shows that she justifies her work and her dreams which were dreamt in an era, where the realisation of a dream as such is quite difficult and against all odds, she stands as a courageous person who has the will and power to stand for what she loves.
