Mumbai-based and born on 28 July 2009, Sapan Saran is a poet, writer and actor. She found a company called ‘ Tamasha Click to look into! >> Read More... ’ which is meant to showcase new and innovative ideas in alternative places. Her entry and welcoming into the industry was with the dancer, AstadDeboo. Director Sunil Shanbag was the one to bring up her talent. He directed the plays that Sapan wrote. These included Club Desire and Classics Redux. Along with him, she also co-directed the film Marriage-ology.
A theatre Arpana and National Centre for the Performing Arts (India) production’s Club Desire was her first creation. Luckily it was selected National School of Drama's International Theatre Festival, Bharat Rang Mahotsav 2015. The critics and the audience went all happy and awestruck by the 10-minute piece called ‘The Church gate Couple’ from Marriage-ology.
She is multi-faceted. She writes plays, models for advertisement and acts in films. She is a magnificent poetess, and her book is due to be published. Many of her poems are published in the magazines, including the SahityaAkademi'sSamkaaleenBhaarteeyaSahitya. Her film work includes Sun TV’s Kanden Kadhalai, which showcases her marvellous performance. All these have music from AR Rehman. She played the role of Roja in Kanden Kadhalai, which is a copied version of Jab we met. Among the Hindi films she appeared in S.R.K and Bewakoofiyaan. Sapan Saran is indeed an entertainer with multi roles to play.
