Saranya Nag is an Indian actress who works in Tamil films. Though she is of Telugu origin, she was born and brought up in Tamil Nadu. She finished her UG from Durga Matriculation and Higher Secondary School, Kodambakkam. Her encounter with acting was as a child in the film Nee Varuvai Ena. She was also referred to be cast in the film Kaadhal, but she was turned down due to the fact she looked young. This all happened in Class IV. She was given a supporting role. In the film Vilayattu, she was with the five other actresses and Jayam Ravi was the main lead. This film got a lot of positive reviews. Her other projects included Thiruvasagam with Aryan Rajesh and Saravana Kudil with Tarun Gopi but these films failed at box office. The film OruvarthaiVesu also was keen on having Saranya as the main lead, but then that film was never made. Thiruvasagam was invigorated in 2013, and its title was changed to Eera Veyyil.

The film Mazhai Kaalam was much in the news because Saranya would appear in a nude avatar. Later she clarified that she had worn a skin colour dress, and the scene was shot decently. But it was her first solo performance film opposite newcomer Sriram. In 2013, she appeared in two Telugu films Prema Oka Maikam. Her upcoming films include RettaiVaalu and EeraVeyil.
