Born on 9 July 1960, Sangeeta Bijlani is an actress of Bollywood and she was also a model. She has won the title during the year 1980. Also, she was selected as winner in the category of National Costume at Miss Universe. She hails from Mumbai, India.

Sangeeta was occupied with commercials, including Nirma detergent and Vicco Turmeric cream after being credited with the Miss India title. Hathyar was the first film that Sangeetha worked on and it was a blockbuster. She earned the attention of the audience through this film. was earlier considered for the role. Her film Tridev was also a great success.

Sangeeta was nominated for Filmfare Best Supporting Actress award for her role in the movie Jurm. Yugandhar, Ijjat, , Yodha were some of the films in which she acted. She worked as an actress in films till 90s.

Sangeeta has done around 16 movies, but was not able to reach the top position. Sangeeta is reputed for her dance in films rather than her acting.

Sangeeta was the host of the music programme Rangoli and she became a household name with that. Also, she was the protagonist in a serial named Chandini, aired on Zee TV. Sangeeta, after being absent from films, showed her presence in parties.

Sangeeta didn’t flourish in films as she did in commercials. She was touted to be promising, but that didn’t fructify.

On her personal front, Sangeeta had an affair with Bollywood actor . Later she was wedded to former cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin during the year 1996. Even after Azharuddin facing charges of match fixing Sangeeta was very much together with the former. In fact, she didn’t continue acting and was busy with a company started by her along with Azharuddin, but unfortunately the couple parted ways in 2010.
