She embarked her career as a dancer in industry. “My father was my inspiration I always wanted to be like him, but my mother didn’t like it,” she says. After becoming a successful dancer, she was demanded to come in the limelight as a character actress. “I worked with my brother Mehmood Ali and many others as a character actress in many comedy roles,” she describes, “but I also wanted to be an actress in Bollywood movies, not just a character actress,” she said. She fought a life-threatening brain tumor which was causing blackouts and memory losses. “My children thought I was never coming back but then suddenly everything fall back into place. I can remember everything after a critical surgery I had come back, and I thank God for giving me wonderful years to live with my children,” she says. Now she is living in Canada, with all her children married and settled in Canada with her grandchildren.
