In 2010, Manjeet made her debut as a director with the film Sukhmani Hope for Life. The film was about to be directed by Manoj Punj. As he died unexpectedly, Manjeet decided to wear the director’s hat. Gurdas, Juhi Chawla and Divya Dutt played in the film. The film was produced by Sai Lok Sangeet, the sister concern of Sai Production Private Limited. The movie grabbed several awards at the PTC Punjabi Film Awards 2011, including the Best Director Award, Best Actress Award, Best Editing Award, Best Story Award, Critics Best Actor Award, and Critics Best Film Award.
