The legendary actress Bina Rai was born on June 4, 1936 into a conservative family in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. As a first-year arts student at Isabella Theodore College in Lucknow in 1950, she saw an advertisement for a contest for talented actors and she applied; to her surprise, she received a call from the sponsors.
