Vishal Watwani had started his career as an actor but later moved to writing which he calls as his passion. He was seen in serials Kumkum Pyaara Sa Bandhan, Dulhann, and Ajeeb where he had noted roles. He has written shows like Devyani on Star Pravah, Mann Ki Awaaz Pratigya, Season 1 and Season 2 of Sanskaar – Dharohar Apnon Ki. He has also donned the cap as the Creative Producer for one of the episodic of Savdhan India that he wrote. He says he has had a good phase as a writer on Television.

on Zee Tv. Though he wants to appear back on- screen but says that he won't be able to do a daily soap as it requires a lot of shooting that will not work well for his profession as a writer. He says he can work for episodic rather than for the whole show.
Currently, he is also working on a script for a film that will mark his debut as a writer on his film career.
