Rajesh Mapuskar

Rajesh Mapuskar is an Indian writer, director, and film-writer. He was born and raised in Shrivardhan, a village in Maharashtra, to father Anant Mahadev Mapuskar and mother, Sindhu Anant Mahapuskar. He completed his schooling from Shrivardhan Public School till grade 10, and later he went to Kirti College, Dadar to pursue a degree in Bachelor of Commerce. He had a joint family, and they owned a cinema hall in the village. He used to clean the hall, distribute tickets, and start the movie as a kid and thus, he developed an interest in the world of Cinema. He was formally introduced to the world of media by a television producer-director, Dr. Satish Rajmachikar. The movie won the Best Film Award and the Best Debut Director at the Dada Saheb Phalke Academy Awards 2017. It also other awards including Best Editing, Best Screenplay, Best Original Story at the Filmfare Awards 2017, Favourite Marathi Film at the Lions Gold Awards 2017, and Best Film at the Maharashtra State Film Awards, 2017. He has even directed numerous commercials in collaboration with Rajkumar Hirani Films and Fingerprint Films for brands like Cadbury Drinking Chocolate, Vodacom, Milo, Cello Butterflow, Airtel, Serengeti Beer, Classmate Pens, and Pan Emirates. Mapuskar launched his production house Magij Films.
