Nitish Bharadwaj is an accomplished Indian actor, screenwriter, and director born on 2nd June 1963. Nitish has acted in many Hindi and Marathi movies and also in television serials and is famous for his portrayal of characters from Epics like Mahabharata and such books. He is known for his role as lord Krishna in the long run TV serial ‘Mahabharata’. He is a certified veterinary surgeon and he got his degree from the famous Bombay Veterinary College. He has also been a member of the Lok Sabha during the period 1996-1999 and he had won from Jamshedpur constituency on BJP’s ticket.
 
He debuted through the Hindi movie ‘Trishagni’, directed by Nabendu Ghosh in 1988, and the film was well received by the critics and it also won a national award. His next movie, ‘Njan Gandharvan’, was in Malayalam and was a super hit in the Malayalam industry. He went on to act in many more Hindi and Marathi movies and many television serials also. He made his debut as a director with the Marathi title ‘Pitruroon’ and the film received great appreciation from critics and audience. 
 
He has also directed a successful television serial named ‘Gita Rahasya’, and the serial was about historical stories. Nitish was married to the daughter of Vimala Patil, who was once the editor of the magazine Femina but later divorced. He is now married to an IAS officer from the 1996 batch Smita Gate.
