Nitish Bharadwaj is back in action!
After almost 7 years, the actor has signed up for another movie. Nitish Bharadwaj will be seen in Malayalam movie ‘Kathanar’, which is based on a medieval saint of the same name. Apart from Nitish, the movie will also see Anushka Shetty and Prabhu Deva in important roles!
This film also marks Nitish’s comeback to Malayalam cinema after more than 30 years. After the sudden popularity he received due to BR Chopra’s ‘Mahabharat’ [where he played Prabhu Shri Krishna], Nitish Bharadwaj had worked in a fantasy romance ‘Njan Gandharvan’, where he played the role of a cursed Gandharva, who falls in love with a college student.
Even though ‘Njan Gandharvan’ was not commercially successful, the film developed a cult status due to its innovative approach. Since then, Nitish hardly worked in movies, let alone Malayalam ones. He had last worked in ‘Kedarnath’, which was released in 2018, and directed by Abhishek Kapoor.
‘Kedarnath’ was a romantic drama featuring Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan as an interfaith couple, while Nitish Bharadwaj played Sara’s conservative father, who was against the alliance. The film was based in the backdrop of the 2013 Kedarnath tragedy, and was moderately successful.
