Rajendra Nath is a popular comedian actor in Hindi, Punjabi and Nepalese films. Originally, he came from Peshawar but his family moved to Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. He attended Darbar College in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh and studied Science. He is the brother of the late actor, Prem Nath and Bollywood actor, Narendra Nath. He quit college and went to Mumbai together with his brother Prem to become an actor. Their sister, Krishna got married to Raj Kapoor which brought their families closer to each other. Initially, he donned plays at the Prithvi Theatre such as Pathan and Shakuntala.
At first, he struggled in getting roles until he got an offer by producer Sashadhar Mukherjee to essay the role of Kailash in the Hindi romantic comedy film, Dil Deke Dekho which stars Shammi Kapoor and Asha Parekh in 1959. Rajendra and Asha became a regular face in several Nasir Hussain films including Baharon Ke Sapne, Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon, Teesri Manzil, Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai and more. He donned over 187 films and this led him to become one of the most popular Indian comedians. He was notably remembered for his comedic role in the box-office films, Mere Sanam in 1965 and Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon in 1963. He was widely known as Popat Lal, a buffoon in the 1961 Bollywood film, Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hai by Nasir Hussain. He was known for his character name Popat Lal and he even used it when he appeared in the television sitcom, Hum Paanch. The brilliant actor has done many films including Shakti Samanta’s Hindi film, An Evening in Paris in 1967 and the Bollywood film, Phir Wohi Dil Laya Hoon in 1963. One of his best performances was from the 1970 film, Purab Aur Paschim. He also made an appearance in the 1966 Nepali film, Maitighar by B.S. Thapa. He also donned several Punjabi films like Jhatt Punjabi. Rajendra was also part of the Hindi film, Vachan in 1938.

Out of his busy schedules doing films and television, the intelligent comedian actor was also doing stage shows around India and abroad including London, New York and more. Rajendra Nath died due to cardiac arrest. The actor was said to be having a hard time breathing on his last few days until he passed away on the day of February 13, 2008. Many big name personalities extend their condolences to the family of Rajendra including Chief Minister Vilasrao Deshmukh.

Kuldeep Dubey is an Indian Stand up comedian and popular for his appearance in Laughter challenge and Comedy circus. He was born in Madhya pradesh. Kuldeep completed his schooling from Gwalior and Shivpuri. Kuldeep completed his graduation from Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore. He now lived in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. As a stand up comedian, He already performed in more than 800 live shows all over the world. He first appeared in Hindi Kavi Sammelans in 1999. In this platform Kuldeep came in touch of all the famous poet of India like Surindar Sharma, Kumar Vishwas and others. In Mumbai, Kuldeep started working on fm radio. He also assisted some TV programme director including Laughter challenge. As an actor, Kuldeep first appeared in the comedy show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge season 3. The show was first premiered on 2005 and Kuldeep made his entry as a participant in its third version. The winner of this season was Kapil Sharma. Along with Kuldeep Dubey many other talented comedians like Sudesh Lehari, Rajiv Thakur, Raju Srivastava and Chandan Prabhakar had appeared in this season. As a Bollywood actor, Kuldeep first appeared in Agnipankh. This Indian film was directed by Sanjiv Puri and was released on 27 February 2004. Kuldeep played his character with various Bollywood actors like Jimmy Shergill, Sameer Dharmadhikari, Rahul Dev, Shamita Shetty, Divya Dutta and Richa Pallod. His second film in Bollywood was Chitkabrey in which he played the character of Amaan Ali Siddiqui. In this film he worked with Ravi Kishan, Rahul Singh, Rajesh Shringarpore and Sanjay Swaraj. The film was directed by Suneet Arora. The film was released on 26th August, 2011. As a Comedian, Kuldeep is very popular and got many title for his talent. The Hindustan Times calls him “Simply Spontaneous”; The Navbharat Times has given him the title “The Funniest, wittiest and young stand up of the country”.

Rajiv Thakur is a Punjab-based stand up comedian who is a well-known face of the Indian television stand-up comedy based programs. He shot to fame with ‘The Great Indian Laughter Challenge part 3’, where he was declared one of the finalists. His journey as a comedian got fresh feathers with some other noted television comedy series like ‘Comedy Circus’ & ‘Ustadon Ke Ustad’, where he got the opportunity to work with some of the most cherished champions of the Hindi comedy world. For his interest in comedy shows, he was first appreciated as a contestant, when he made his debut in the year 2008. His first appearance was in a TV show called ‘Comedy Champions’, which was aired on the Sahara One TV channel. The show was based on performances of jokes, which was never seen before on Indian television. This show was a mixture of comedy jokes presented by Pakistani and Indian actors. Due to its popularity, the show lasted for two seasons. Rajeev Thakur made an advent in the TV comedy shows, along with his other contemporary stand-up comedian artists such as Rajeev Nigam, Kuldeep Dubey, and Sunil Pai, among others. The show helped artists like Rajeev Thakur, with fresh content of jokes matching with their personality and style of performances. After this show, the actor came back again as a contestant on another comedy show that was telecast on Sony Entertainment TV channel. The program was ‘Comedy Ka Daily Soap’. The show was totally hilarious as it presented the mimicries of famous celebrities. In this show, many stand-up comedians and other actors from small screen had participated. The show had 32 episodes and reached it’s final telecast just within two months. It is sad that many stand-up comedian actors are not given any chances in film projects. Hence, the talent of many stand-up comedian actors is not yet tapped well in the entertainment industry, which is really very sad. Yet one must cheer this actor who shone brilliantly in every performance that he communicated to audiences through TV shows.
