He did his schooling in a Gujarati medium from M.A. High School in Mumbai. Behram Rana got admitted to J.J. Institute of Arts in 1960 and majored in Applied Arts.

After his graduation in 1964, Behram opened his designing studio and worked with various advertising agencies. Then, for a couple of years, he did freelancing and worked as creative in advertising agencies. He entered Larsen & Toubro Limited in 1977 as the Assistant General Manager Creative and served the company for 24 long years, till he turned 60 in 2001. With most of his time devoted to work, Behram started painting in part-time. He realized his passion for painting soon, and since then, his love for painting is unbounded.

Behram Rana organized his maiden art exhibition in 1983 at Taj Art Gallery. Since then, he has done over ten art shows at various places in Mumbai and Singapore. After his retirement in 2001, Behram Rana has been a full-time artist and enjoys his life with art. Other than painting, he also finds time for photography and writing. Behram Rana’s journey in Bollywood started with the 2008 film Yuvvraaj. He portrayed the character Jackson, a musician, in the movie. Gradually, he played a character role in many movies and became a known name in the circuit.
