Ameet Chana

Ameet Chana is an actor. He came to this world on 12th September 1975. He was born in Epsom, Surrey, England. Ameet Chana has stayed in various places like Reading, Berks, Cheam in Surrey and Croydon. He also lived for 15 years in Harrow, Middlesex with his parents and sister. Ameet is married to his wife named Shikha Varma. Ameet completed his schooling at Gayton High School. He pursued the course of BTEC in National Performing Arts from Elm Park College and completed his graduation. He used to practice like them. At the age of 13, his parents saw the potential in him for acting and enrolled his name into an acting workshop at the London Academy of Acting. After this, he hired an agent and started working in TV. He also performed in several plays and theatres. He has also worked in low budget films.

Ameet’s did his first film at the age of 14 with the London Docklands Development Corporation. It was based on education. He also appeared in a feature film named ‘Wild West’ released in 1992. Ameet Chana also worked in a super hit comedy show named ‘League of Gentlemen’ and he also acted in a popular film named ‘Bend it like Beckham’ released in 2001.

He also worked in the popular daily soap titled ‘East Enders’ (1985). Ameet loved sports and he was a part of the cricket, football and hockey team in his school. He was the host of British Asian Sports Personality of the Year in 2002. Ameet got his inspiration from the TV series Grange Hill. Ameet worked in various plays such as ‘Wicked Year’, ‘The Skeleton’, ‘Balti Kings’, ‘Ungrateful Dead’, ‘Papa was a bus conductor’ and ‘Crazy Horse’.

Ameet loved doing social work and he helped in launching a National Kidney Research Fund in July 2002.
