Aabid Shamim

Aabid Shamim is a veteran actor in the film industry. He has worked in many commercials, Advertisements, short films, TV Series, and Feature films. He is best known for his Film Aalaap, Pakauu and International television series McMafia. Aabid hailed from the city of Kolkata and had done his studies from the Ling Liang High School. For his higher studies, He went to the Bhawanipur Education Society College. He is an extremely talented actor who generates content for the betterment of the social strata. His initiative towards the welfare of the society is visible in his works.

Be it the fiction films or the advertisements, his choice of work advocates for the society. His first feature film Aalaap was one such initiative to eradicate violence prevalent in the Maoist community through the medium of Music. In this movie, Music was used as a medium to spread peace and be on equal terms with the Maoist group. This movie got highly criticised because it was on a very sensitive topic. Manish Manikpur was the director and it was shot in Chattisgarh. Taking his legacy forward, he worked on another short film titled ‘Enough’ which was a story of a naïve, sweet and responsible mother who bear with all the atrocities of the world silently but broke free when it came to her daughter.

She completely changed into a battle woman. Aabid also worked in the gender sensitization campaign called HIM (Husband Initiated Movement) and acted in an advertisement on the awareness about breast cancer and how a woman should take some time out of their busy lives and work toward their health also. The real fame reached Aabid with his debut in the International television series ‘McMafia’ with the star cast of James Nortan, Merab Ninidze, and Kirill Pirogor. It’s a crime drama series based on the Russian mafia world.

Aabid played the role of Guava juice in episode two and fourth of the show. He also featured in the movie Pakauu in the year 2012. Aabid worked in the commercial of Paytm app propagating the message of money transfer through Paytm UPI. Apart from acting, Riding is Aabid’s one of the favorite hobby. TO work forward towards it, he participated in the Bikers Rally and rode in the event called ‘Torque 24.’ He worked for the advertisement of Edelweiss Tokio filmed by Native films.
