B. H. Abdul Hameed (born 11 April 1949) is a Sri Lankan radio and television broadcaster, host, lyricist, and film actor. He is well recognized for his work as a broadcaster for Radio Ceylon, South Asia's oldest radio station. Hameed has hosted a number of important Tamil events all around the world. He became part of a group of announcers that were well-known throughout South Asia. Millions of people listened to the radio station that used to be known as Radio Ceylon and is now considered as one of the most popular Tamil radio stations in the country. In 1976, he made his acting debut in the Sri Lankan Tamil film ‘Komaligal’, which was a replica of the popular radio play ‘Komaligalin Kummalam’ and a box office triumph.
Hameed also appeared in K. S. Ravikumar's film ‘Thenali’, which was released in 2001. Many worldwide Tamil events, particularly in Canada and Europe, now choose him as the master of ceremony. He is the current host of Kalaignar TV's game show ‘ Rasigan Rasigan is an interview-based tv show aired on Adi >> Read More... ’. Sun TV, Raj TV, TVI, and Tamil One are some of the Tamil television channels, which he has appeared. He notably served as an honorary patron for Komaali Kings, the first full-length Tamil film in Sri Lankan Tamil cinema in 40 years.
