Latha Mani is an Indian filmmaker who is popular as a historian, and writer. She was born in Oakland, Canada and was raised in Mumbai. Later, she completed her schooling in Political Science at Delhi University in 1974. She did further studies in MA in 1983 and PhD in History of Consciousness in 1989 at California University, Santa Cruz. She has published various articles from topics of feminism to spiritual philosophy and to colonialism. She worked as a media planner in India and the UK and was a part of Women’s Studies at University of California. In 1993, she got severe head injury and experienced through a phase of physical and mental transformation. This was a turning point in her life which let her think beyond her limits and imaginations.
